I am making a sausage casserole in slow cooker for first time, how long do i put it on for?

its 1pm and i need it done for half 6 the latest, i have just fried the sausages a little bit in pan to get them brown i have never used one before. how long do i cook it for? i am mixing it with new potatoes carrots onions and green peppers.
